Hello All, I have had several people ask me about Women Ministries. If there is one thing I know, when one person has a question, there are others, so I thought I would send out a quick email to help answer some of those questions. What is Women Ministries? The Evangelical Covenant Church is committed to advancing God’s kingdom through ministries that equip women to grow, serve, and reach out with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through leadership training, retreats, and global opportunities, the Covenant Church connects women in transformational relationships and unites them in Christ to impact our world. Who belongs to Women Ministries? All women do. Do you have to belong to the church to participate in the activities we have throughout the year? No. All women are welcome to come to any or all of our gatherings and to bring a friend or two if you like.
Is there a yearly cost or obligation? No. There is no cost or obligation to participate. When do we meet? We try to meet once a month and vary the time so more women have the opportunity to "try us out". What do we do? This year we are working specifically with AVA (Advocacy for Victims of Abuse). We recently received a grant to purchase an abuse awareness exercise called, "Walk in Her Shoes" and are planning our second awareness workshop on October 2nd.
Last year, we planned and successfully accomplished our First Annual Father/Daughter Dance, complete with DJ, pictures, snacks and plenty of dancing. We are beginning plans for our Second Annual Father/Daughter Dance and would love to have more input, involvement, and fellowship from all of you. We hope you can join us and save October 21st for our Second Annual Father/Daughter Dance. Where can I find more information? Our Denominational website is http://www.covchurch.org/women/
